Because the Central League game against Fleetwood has been moved to Tuesday 4th February (2pm KO) the Cumberland Cup game against Penrith will be at Frenchfield Park on Wednesday 19th February with a 7.30pm KO.

It's a carve up. This is just like Portsmouth and Salford CIty.

To increase the crowd they are keeping Kirkoswald and Cleator Moor Celtic apart until the final.

Would have thought some of the squad players would have benefited from a proper competitive game against local lads with a point to prove rather than a glorified meaningless kick about

Does that tell us something about the quality of our youth players?
Getting hammered off a tier 9 side struggling at the bottom of their division.

That’s true and Kinder is very critical of the performance on the official site today. This current youth squad intake originally included Branthwaite, Galloway and Charters and the team has struggled in their absence, from what I’ve seen of them.

I really like Barnes. He’s a big lad, usually at right back and puts terrific crosses into the box but he needs to toughen up considerably. Birch is versatile, playing at full back or on the wing. I don’t think he’s got the potential of Galloway. Lightfoot has made no impression on me. Wilson has improved a lot this season. He’s a central defender, like Branthwaite’s mini me.

I was quite surprised when all 4 of them got taken on for next season.

Shame Beech didn't give playing the game a bit more importance Curle was the same it's a very old competition and deserves a bit more respect.
It was obviously men against boys yesterday.

We have put plenty of young teams out in this comp before and probably will again it not often the youngsters get to play against men even if the result isn't what was hoped lessons will have been learned or at least coaching staff learned a bit about the players

Our first goal looked a decent finish and judging by highlights our keeper didn't cover himself in glory

Be just and fear not
