Proceed with caution on this one... could easily be a reason for this leak to Colman either by NM or the club.

Aye was thinking the same, smokescreen anyone?

Can just see the Boards reaction now.

Whether it was his decision not to come or the club's not to offer it, I'm pleased. It would have been awful PR after all that's gone on.

Anyone's guess who we'll end up with now.

For anyone that thinks NM has just been offered this job at Swindon would be naive, this would have been on the table for a bit, NM quite rightly would not commit until he knew the outcome of the job up here, where he felt he had a chance of being number 1.

Now lets look at it this way, NM was in with a big big shout for this job, why would he have been interviewed twice. Just maybe the board have listened to what supporters have said, NC has informed the board of all the emails he has received, and they have maybe thought they have to look at someone else. NM would have already told them he had offers from elsewhere, and they might have said take that offer as I do not think we can offer you the job due to supporter reaction.

The board will obviously want to say "we were never going to employ him in the first place and do not listen to rumours", but that would be very naive of people to buy that.

Anyway, I am going to praise the board, no matter what they come out with next, as in saying NM was never in the running, and say well done for listening to peoples views, and well done NC for answering emails.

More likely we offered him the job and he realised he'd be on twice the money at Swindon, wouldn't have to build almost an entire team from scratch and wouldn't have plenty of the fanbase already hating him.

Can't believe it would have been that difficult a choice.

Giving the Board any credit goes against all known laws of science. Can't believe they would change the habit of a lifetime and suddenly start listening to fans.

It is far more likely, being consistent with historical precedent, that they've totally messed the situation up and this is where they've ended up!

I think the supporters deserve a lot of credit, not just the NM situation, but for making a difference, yes they will tell you NM was not near the job and he was always going to Swindon, but in reality I think you have shown just what can be done when coming together.

And again, someone seems to have listened and communicated this.

If an appointment isn't made middle of this week, so today or I suppose tomorrow, it would make you think NM was first choice, at the point of the club's last statement.

They probably were planning on it but if they had have done nobody would have bought season tickets and then they would have been screwed.

They actually had their man and messed him around no ends.

If they are not getting money in then this looks grim, that 25k that scuppered the Hopkin deal could have been recouped right away with season ticket sales as the money was over a season and all the majority of the existing season ticket holders would have at least looked like the board were being positive and bought another.

Now no cash because of the uncertain future of the club, hands in pockets Mr Jenkins or there will be massive protests as not only did you spend your own money but you also spunked the football fortune money otherwise the books will have looked far worse than they do.

Jenkins could not fund a third division team and now he has proved that he cannot fund a fourth division team.

Hey Lummy
is there any chance whatsoever they invited you to the meeting just to stitch you up and discredit you in an attempt to split the fans faith in you? It seems that they may be underhand enough and clearly capable of acting in this manner.

It really is embarrassing following Carlisle at the minute and I for one haven't previously been too bothered about board room dealings until they shafted Laffy

LAUGHABLE if I hadn't invested in season tickets for the last 15 years.

No I don’t think so, if they did it didn’t work.

I genuinely think JN wanted to tell me all about his FA/EFL duties and put a bit of ownership/responsibility onto other board members and trust.

OH FFS in one way good news, but in another way are we heading for an even a more ridiculous statement from the senile , self serving imbeciles .? Surely, Nigel Clibbens realises that any small credibility he had left in football has been destroyed by his association with these foul snakes. (as maybe should Andy and Amy of our media dept should try for other job,s now on the same basis , once a liar always a liar, by association, )

Whilst I thought NM did a good job last time at the club, I didn't think he was the right choice going forward. I want to see a new refreshing face as manager. However a note of caution.... I wouldn't put it past the halfwits to appoint a much worse option than NM... like Lee Clark for instance. Until I know who they put in the managers position I won't be giving them or supporter power any credit whatsoever.
