It’s been a dreary , disappointing season in the main.
When we lost to Notts County the season seemed virtually over.
If we can get a win on Saturday, we will be well and truly back in the play-off mix.

The next two winnable home games, would set up a fair chance of pulling it off, if we can get the results we need.

After all the crapness and doom and gloom , what a nice feeling it would be to have some potentially big games to look forward to.

Lincoln on Easter Monday, an away day at Morecambe, Luton which will have a big game feel and potentially we can take it down to the final day.

Let’s forgot the politics for now and get behind the lads.

Up the blues.

Not being one to ever give the players stick on the pitch and most of my abuse on here is normally aimed at previous managers but I cannot think of a previous manager who can change things around and actually get a reaction from the players, it has happened before with Curle as well and it has gone both ways with the ups and downs.

For every person who thinks that this is a great situation there will be one who believes that we should be top of the league because it is a rubbish league this year so we should romp it etc.

Yes, we've conceded 3 goals in 2 matches against Wycombe in injury time. Could easily have been 6 points instead of 1.

I think that's right, munchy. In my short time at BP Curle's pulled around a situation twice now where the season has looked to be falling away. I think it shows that the whole set up on the playing side of things is generally in pretty good health. It might not be perfect but he's certainly got the players onside and there's obviously a belief from them that what he's doing is something to buy into.
There's certainly a good spirit in the side as well and that's something that isn't easy to instill into a group particularly during a bad run.
For me, seeing Devitt, Ellis, Bennett, Liddle and Hope performing well is very encouraging. All have struggled at times and had periods out of the team but there doesn't appear to have been too many toys thrown out of the pram. Disaffected or unhappy players can be a problem and not only does this seem to have been managed well but when they then do get back into the team their performances have improved.
We could lose 2 on the bounce at home, like any side in this division at the moment, but I think that Curle, the backroom staff and the players deserve credit for giving us, at the moment, an and of season to look forward to.

I think we've been lucky to get a run of shit teams that's allowed us to build up some, sorely lacking, confidence.

Wasn't it the start of this season when we could only beat teams beginning with C? Hopefully that'll continue.

I think that's right about Forest Green and Grimsby who are on dreadful runs but recently Chesterfield have beaten Luton and Swindon, Barnet have beaten Colchester and Notts County and Forest Green have beaten Crawley and Coventry. We've beaten all 3 of those teams recently.

Chesterfield lost the 3 before we played them and Barnet's form was indifferent excepting the good result against Notts County.

Having said all that, I don't think we should be fearing anyone we've got left to play.

Is your girl looking forward to seeing Jabo again?

Unfortunately we can't make the Cambridge game. It's a real shame as Jabo is an incredibly likeable guy and has been really kind to us.
We've quite a way to come for home games so can't make them all. We have to see family and it was either on the Cambridge match or the Morecambe one to see them. She really wants to go on the supporters coach as she's intrigued by it whenever she sees it. She thinks it's some kind of magic bus. I have been trying to dampen down her expectations. So it's off to Morecambe. Never been before. Do they serve shrimps at the stadium?

The pies are the best in the league imo - just get there early or you will get one of the ones that they found to give Seesaw or that lad with the massive roll and hot dog :)

Funnily enough, if you turn come out of the ground and turn right and keep going then the last left before you get to the sea front there is a fishmonger and the guy who owns it catches his own brown shrimp in the bay, the blue boat moored up is his, good crack he is and tells you about the recent hauls - he pointed out a bit in the bay to me and said that he had never caught any before there till recently and it was a bumper catch so was rubbing his hands and said here we go and has tried there ever since and not caught a thing as are the unpredictability of the shrimps.

Seemed to attract a lot of customers - loads of old lads were in there buying fresh crab claws of all things.

Like Barry said, they do them in batches and I can imagine that there was alternatives if they sell out, maybe ran to the Spar or like that shan of a hot dog but I don't think that they thought that we would bring so many as a club on its arse financially could clean up when we turn up.

Had the meat and tattie about five times now and consistently good - pie peas and gravy at a game you cannot beat it on a cold day.

I do get those that say that bring your own or can't you go a couple of hours without food and the likes but a Bovril or pie n peas is traditional, the tradition at Brunton Park is dying out as not only are the pies nasty but there is no hot water for the Bovril - last time I had a pie at Brunton Park the filling was spread on with a knife and just as well really considering the gristle in there.

The thing is if you get it right with the food like Morecambe have done then it is a delicious treat to enjoy at half time and for me enhances the experience I find, not much to ask from Carlisle United to charge more but improve quality?

Yes, for those of us of a certain vintage a Bovril and a pie is part of going to the match. Unfortunately the Pioneer stand's pies aren't great. As recommended by many on here we had the burger from the Lakeland burger van last time and was very good. The bloke serving told me that the burgers were actually made by Pioneer Foods. Didn't know that.
Will try the pies at Morecambe as recommended and also that fishmonger sounds nice.
Best food I've had this year was the pies at Luton which were superb and you could still watch the game whilst queuing as it was tucked away in the back of the stand and the burger van at Gillingham.

A steak pie is one the easiest things to make, Good meat, good seasoning, good pastry and be generous with the meat and you can go wrong. To many pies have too lower quality meat so have to over-season it normal with Pepper and seem to be 90% gravy. Good quality a good price will always sell better than Shiite at a over inflated price

Owners like the stadium, full of Sh!T

Ah - so that's why the van is allowed if the burgers are Pioneer, if I had the catering rights then I would be asking questions but maybe because they are not performing then Jenkins had a clause.

Going about things the wrong way Mr Jenkins if the crowd are crowing at your burger van offerings and slagging off your caterers, seems a bit weird when you look at it.
