Harrogate United (Stead) 1 Carlisle United 2 (Kayode Mellish)

It'll be a hostile atmosphere at Wetherby Road but I fancy a win.

We always do quite well against glorified non league outfits - Crawley, Stevenage, Salford, Newport etc. ;)

They will have had too many cream teas and toffee over Christmas and will be dehydrated from those stinky baths so we will win 2-1.

Interesting that Mansfield v Salford has just been postponed due to snow, with the Mansfield Groundsman mentioning that they can’t appeal for help as they normally would, yet Harrogate have done just that!

Seemingly, but regardless the pitch is deemed as ‘Red Zone’ on a Matchday according to the EFL Regs.

All depends when a Matchday ‘starts’ etc!

Not exactly a great covering by that photo on Twitter. A bit of wind will blow that away before kick off! :D

If only Harrogate could afford a 3g pitch. Then all would be OK lol.

What odds they’ve cleared the snow to find the pitch was solid underneath in the first place?

That’s what I reckon. Just need it confirmed by the referee for it to officially be off. Wouldn’t be surprised if CUFC have already been told it’s frozen solid and off.

Orange ball, sweep the lines, keeper wearing tracky bottoms and long studs. The good old days. That's not snow, it's dandruff!

I can't seem to get my head around Harrogate's nickname. Every time I see the sulpherites thread I think it's going to be some weird new cure someone's suggesting for covid!

Narrow pitch as we’ve seen so not a great game for wing-play. Mellish or Charters needed to win second balls. Try an nick a 1-0 from a set piece, very excited to see what the team will look like with so many players back.

I’ll go for a 1-0 win.

Not an easy game as they play similar to us with high energy and press but we tend to clear our lines rather than play out from the back so should help us.

Think we need Hayden and Bennett back in the middle so I’d play Armer at RB and Anderton back in on the left.

Tough one with Mellish and Charters, as well as Charters played against Walsall I’d be tempted to play Mellish simply for his threat in the box given the narrow pitch bodes well for JJ’s long throw.

I’d stay unchanged aside from that, Toure, Dickenson and Zanzala to bring on from the bench is a threat to any side in this league.

Harrogates pitch is 66 yards wide, compared to BP 72 yards. Those long throws are going to cause problems, so it's Mellish instead of Charters for me.

Also shorter, 100 yards as opposed to 112 yards, so Furman will be kicking it to about the edge of their area! Winning second balls will give us a big advantage tonight I hope.
