That would be unlikely with both Carlisle and Crawley having games on Tuesday.

If it’s played at say 12 or 1 on the Sunday it might be more preferable to Crawley than coming here on a Tuesday night.

Looking at the forecast it has to be moved to Sunday- There will be no other options except playing Saturday Tuesday Thursday one week like barrow had to do last full season.
I would rather ensure the game is on and play Tuesday as well if we have to; maybe Crawley and our players feel different?
But with these unique circumstances, Yu would think the four teams involved in switching to a Wednesday night could manage it . (Carlisle Crawley Harrogate and Stevenage)
It’s only Wednesday now so there’s plenty of time to make changes if they pull their fingers out.
It’s going to be -7 in Carlisle tonight, little chance of pitch recovery in day temps of 1 or 2 deg. Looking at temps if 5 + on Sunday ?

Yeah Crawley are only on 25 games played themselves so are 3 behind some teams, so maybe they’d rather get it played on Sunday and out of the way rather than coming up here on a Tuesday night when when by that time we might be back in form. We could perhaps play it as an early KO on Sunday, that way they could be back down the road by 3pm.

It’s either Sunday or a postponement, because it won’t be happening on Saturday.

If the Crawley game is off that leaves us needing to arrange that game and the Orient fixture.

As far as I can see the only two free Tuesdays are 23rd March and 4th May. Any further postponements will mean us probably playing on a Thursday if they refuse to extend the season.

The Harrogate game on Tuesday will probably be called off about 6.30 for some reason or other!

The Orient game was rearranged yesterday for 23 March.

There is another free midweek in the Easter fortnight- we could play Tuesday, Friday, Monday, or shift the Easter weekend games back 24 hours

The Crawley game will be off. The club have confirmed that it will be hard to put the game back to Sunday. Seeing as there’s absolutely no chance of the pitch being playable Saturday, all minds are now on Harrogate on Tuesday and just hoping and preying that after a frozen pitch and a powercut, it’s third time lucky there.

Here’s a radical thought. Just looked at bbc weather. Virtually countrywide is -4 Friday night, not going above 0 until lunchtime. Likely most of EFL will be wiped out.
Why not move ALL fixtures to Sunday and Wednesday- then nobody is inconvenienced or put out. Surely the EFL has authority to do that ? Just for us!

The question is- has anyone from the club even asked Crawley , Harrogate and Stevenage?

What is frustrating is that the club seem to be making little effort to beat the freeze. Get some heaters in, local farmers with hay/straw, be creative - at least try harder than a plastic sheet.

They do seem a bit shit at this - laying any kind of insulating sheet over already frozen ground just helps keep it frozen, unless they're expecting some kind of volcanic event to occur

What happened to that geofleece stuff they had in the beast from the east?

Just a observation. Why don’t they invest in a effective cover for the Warwick end which is always in shade. It is only 20 % of the pitch. 20% of the cost for a good quality insulated cover. And easier to store when not needed.

According to NC yes, we tried, but it failed because of a lack of cooperation between other managers.

Perhaps we could start a fundraiser to build a giant glass dome around the stadium. Might even be some spare parts left over from Knighton’s butterfly house that could be used

Much prefer the latter.

The former would result in a run of Sat/Tue/Fri/Mon/Sat at present - Not ideal unless the Fri/Mon got pushed back to Sat/Tues!
