That explains a lot to me. I remember Iron Maiden sang a song called the flight of Icarus. Icarus famously flew too close to the sun and his wings melted. This could only have been done if the sun wasn’t as far away as were led to believe. Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson is also a pilot so maybe that’s his little clue to us all. Makes you think eh?

i thought that satellites, if they existed, would make it possible though? to cover the area's that ground transmitters could not reach!

This is just your own ignorance. There is a difference between cellular phones and satellite phones.

One uses transmitting towers, the other uses satellites.

The earth being round isn't a theory.

How do you explain time zones ? If the earth was flat then when the sun rose the entire planet would be illuminated at the same time, and visa versa when it went down.

That explains your "why can't I see satellites in NASA photos".

the sun is not 93 million miles away. it also revolves around the flat earth in a circular clockwise motion. my explanation is no different to the you tube link i posted a few messages back, on page 7, regarding seasons and time zones.

no of course not. a satellite phone will be receiving a stronger signal than an ordinary mobile device.

no I'm not on a windup, but im not being fooled anymore either.

this is just another attention seeking non-story. there is enough evidence to prove the earth is flat without having to strap yourself to a rocket.

PaddockRanger wrote: as far as i know TV dishes all face east. there is a ground transmitter that sends out digital information which is received by the dish. same as GPS. the theory of the globe earth has the earth spinning at 1000 mph from east to west. if a TV dish was receiving digital waves from a satellite then it would need to follow it as the earth rotates. as you are aware TV dishes are stationary facing east.

If there were satellites can you explain why that you are unable to receive GPS or a signal on your portable device (mobile phone) in some rural area's?

Some satellites are geosynchronous, that means that they orbit the earth at the same speed at which the earth rotates, so they are always in the same relative position so that your satellite dish is always pointing at it.

GPS - You can receive GPS signal anywhere outside, rural areas or not have [censored] all to do with it. If you are in a steep-sided valley it might not be as accurate because you wouldn't get a great angle of cut between the required 3 or 4 satellites.

No signal - Mobile signal does not depend on satellite, it depends on antennas which transmit on line of sight frequencies. The fact that you expect the existence of satellites to mean that mobiles should work everywhere, shows that you don't really know what you're talking about and/or aren't that clever.

Satellite phones - they exist. I've used them.

www.snopes.com/fact-check/moon-truth/

"A less elaborate video twist on the moon landing hoax was featured at moontruth.com, where web surfers could view a re-creation (or perhaps we should say “pre-creation”) of the first moon landing, purportedly filmed in 1965; the footage is revealed to be studio fakery when a bank of arc lights breaks loose, intruding into the shot sending the film crew swarming onto the set to prepare for another “take.”

Many people inquired of us whether the (fictional) backstory given on moontruth.com about the video clip was real. (Presumably they didn’t all believe the moon landings were faked and instead were questioning whether some “rehearsals” might have been filmed by NASA for whatever reasons, as implied in the site’s disclaimer “There is no proof that because this was shot in a studio, the moon landing was necessarily faked.”) For them we note that at least two humorous aspects of the clip (inserted intentionally or otherwise) give it away as a post-Apollo fabrication:

1) The “astronaut” in the clip flubs the “One small step …” line (by omitting the word “a” between the words “for” and “man”) just as Neil Armstrong did during the real Apollo 11 moon landing in July 1969.

2) In the closing moments of the clip, the “astronaut” can be heard apologizing to “Mr. Gorsky,” a reference to a Neil Armstrong-related joke-cum-urban legend from the mid-1990s.

If that isn’t sufficient, the moontruth.com site eventually published a disclaimer noting that:

Yes, the clip is fake. It was shot in a studio in London in spring 2002. It was based on an idea by director Adam Stewart, who was a space exploration nut. He had read the conspiracy theory sites and decided he wanted to make a spoof based on the idea that the Apollo 11 moon landing was faked."
