I think it’s a good idea, these community things are something I’ve been suggesting for years so well done those that have set it up.

Not sure it’ll get many more through the door, only results will change that I suppose.

The people I know that do the mental health/ disability football through the club only have good words to say about it and John Halpin. What a great thing for them to be able to go out onto Brunton Park with a crowd - there’ll remember it for years.

A lot of disabled people watch Carlisle United, it’s a market to tap into so interesting to see what’ll happen with other groups.

If you want the BCF to reform, reform it.

At least we’re not Stockport

My highlight is that the article on the CUOSC website directing folk to CUOSC ‘on the web’ for details on applications rather than a simple link.

That aside, think any community event to get the wider community involved in sport and things around the club is a good thing. Reading the article, though, I get the impression it wouldn’t be open to my 7 aside team entering, though, as we aren’t from a group that’s ‘discriminated against’. That isn’t all that inclusive in my eyes... Could of course be me incorrectly interpreting it.

That's a joke right?

Why would it be a joke ?

If Coleman's article is correct are they targetting FOREIGNERS don't they realise that we.re ridding ourselves of these people so what's the point? they.ll be long gone back to Warsaw before this comes to fruition. LGBGT don't they realise that the real members of the LGBGT community consider campaigns like this as offensive they don't want to be singled out for attention they just want to be allowed to integrate with the wider community. No doubt the club will be painting the seats in a rainbow design for them to sit in.DISABLED There really does seem to be a concerted campaign going on up and down the country to fill the grounds with these people what was wrong with just letting them park their larl blue cars in front of the paddock like they used to ?

The one section of the community that's clearly missing from BP are lads in their teenage years looking for a bit of action on a Saturday afternoon. Try having a look at Blackpool where it's totally different their youth is thriving thanks mainly to the Mulkkers fan group and their initiatives to get the kids of the resort involved again and their crew now is comparable with clubs twice their size. And they've had numerous victories this season a couple of times against their own stewards and against the Cods Crew when Phil and Grant stood up to be counted and did the business to roars of approval from the Lashers fans.

Oh for the days when we had an owner who was willing to Kick off in the stand when the Lincoln young farmers gave him some grief and who used to spend his Wednesday nights in the Peds playing pool with the BCF, buying them drinks and hearing about what they had planned for the weekend.

And then they wonder why gates have all but halved when they've sucked all the fun and the crack out of Saturday Afternoons.

I’ve never understood the notion that in order to integrate and be accepted they set up their own group with their own silly little flag and bore everyone with it. The best way to earn acceptance is to just act normal.

They should just do a huge 6 a side tournament 18 upwards with two days of qualifying for the playoffs on a the third. Winner gets free hospitality at the next game, runner up signed shirts for the team and third place free drink and food voucher at the next game. There would loads of entries

It would give an incentive to go to the next game but half the pies are practically inedible and taste like cardboard and the burgers are just criminal. The burgers outside the B stand are very good though.

But the height of the BCF came way after that take 3 events 1] Paul Dodds book 1995 2] MK putting PD on the staff 1998 3] JC visiting the Peds 2003 so I think you can safely say the height of their popularity actually came at a time of out highest gates not the lowest as HB claims

You clearly didn't know any of them then. We were considered to be a club kicking well above their station at the time

But Fine have it your way and as you're so keen on proof I .ll be happy to see what you have that the BCF existed much before Knighton took over and at that point, we certainly weren't playing in front of the low crowds that you mention and actually although home crowds were pretty desperate in the 80.s and early 90.s away from home particularly but not exclusively in the North West we put some good followings together like the day at Oldham when the mounted plod came onto the terrace.

No different from say Hunt Saboteurs or a modern example Extinction Rebellion and as CW says its fallacy that on anything but a few occasions people who didn't want to be involved got drawn into it.

The only reason it was vilified is that it suited Thatcher and her law and order agenda to clamp down on it

Nah fraid not Nobby

But I was there that day on Botch in the shots right at the start.

And there is some good footage of me stood on the wall outside the Beehive that day it kicked off against Hartlepool floating about on the net. Plod came to lift me at home on the Monday after but the bird at the time told em i wasnt in and that was the last i heard about it.
