Charity Raffle was created by mattcufc
Over the years have being asked if I will sell the CUFC board from behind the bar, but in aid of the charity Clic Sargent and Carlisle Blood Bikes , I have decided that it is time to raffle this off. Tickets are £3 each or 2for £5! This is a one off opportunity to win a piece of CUFC memorabilia. The guy who did this for us even said it was too much of a pain in the arse to do any more!
Tickets available at the bar and it will be drawn after the game on Easter Monday!

Could someone advise best way to post photos as tiny pic which I would usually use doesn’t seem to work!

If you were selling them all on the same night of the draw you might get away with it but you really need a licence of Carlisle City Council. Also every ticket has to be the same price.

[censored] off do you really think the City council would want to be the front-page headline in the ENS " City Council Costs Two Charites £500 pounds each" will they hell they.ll do nothing then send someone round to smack Matt,s hands a couple of weeks later.

I've run draws and raffles for decades and the first bloke from a council who tried to tell me what to do would be leaving very quickly probably thru the nearest window.

Stick me down for half a dozen Matt and don't let the PC Arse Holes get you down.

If you let these jobsworths get away with it you.ll just encourage them Just let them know you're not willing to play their stupid games and they.ll piss off and find themselves an easier target. That's what council employees do

So are you trying to tell me that unlike every other council in the country Carlisle City Council havnt laid off every member of staff that isnt operationally necessary or whos position brings in revenue ?

I cant see much cash to be made from chasing pub managers to buy licences to run raffles can you ? especially if every time they come in the the pub staff tell them hes not here.

All a bit of a palaver that! It’s only £40 for a licence that lasts a year.

Hardly a fortune for Lloyd’s! :-D

You might not but I wouldn't give any council employee the steam off my shit.

And why should i have to pay them 40 quid just to sell a few raffle tickets ?

I Exclude from that The Gully cleaner team from LCC who cover Hyndburn they give an excellent service although I thought the hand holding out ceremony at Xmas was a bit over the top but having their mobile number has been a big help over the last couple of years.

But almost without exception, they are a useless bunch of arseholes. I could show you an e.mail exchange from last week of a Hyndburn BC council employee issuing a summons against me a trying to charge me 80 quid over a bill that I could prove i.d paid 10 days earlier and then comes the really funny bit where they try to backtrack and say I didn't say that, completely forgetting they'd put it in an e.mail for [censored] sake anyway the whole paper chase has gone off to the ombudsman with a claim for a 25% council tax reduction

As long as they prove it is bona fide the council should donate the 40 quid they charge to the charity in question.

Not sure why this is still attracting crazy comments
Councils regulate all "gaming" which is what this is in effect....it's not at their discretion
.....other things you need a local council licence for are busking and peddling, yes a peddlers licence exists for selling stuff on the street ie those light up wand things on Bonfire night!!

Paying a bill issued by a council jobsworth?! You big girls blouse. The SOUL I knew and loved would never have even considered doing such a thing.

Going soft in your old age lad. You'll be wearing seatbelts and burning only smokeless fuels next!
