Cobra meeting held to discuss plan of action if it comes to the UK (assuming it hasn't already). This is another consequence of globalisation and mass immigration, people with diseases from all over the world travelling all over the world, what could possibly go wrong?

This planet is well overdue a good old cull. I'm all for it.
Certainly wouldn't be the end of the world if it wipes out 51.9% of this country's population.

At least we're not Mullen.

Some of you need to get out more. All part of a Government plan to get rid of all the Chinese students over here, part of their ethnic cleansing for the Daily Mail mongs. Public demands Chinese all go home, Universities lose the income from them being here doing expensive degree courses, Universities have to put up fees, the proles can't afford to go to Uni anymore, fees go up for the few who can. Of course tucked away in South Scotland you won't have ever seen a Chinese student but there are thousands here putting money into our economy.

Why would the government want to get rid of Chinese students. Unis I do work with have 3 intakes a year to cope with the demand from China.

Does anyone know why the business school at Carlisle uni is so shite? Only recently hired 1 accountancy lecturer full time. Specialise in fraud but weird types, not anti corruption. The deputy head of the thing claims to be an expert in South Eastern trade but when the Asian development bank offered him assistance he didn't even reply.

It's basically a low level scouting operation. Send hundreds of thousands of young people overseas to get mediocre teaching in the West but pick up bits and pieces along the way.

I imagine in 50 years time that trade will begin to dwindle when China believes it has nothing left to learn from us. Meanwhile, we'll be left crying into our pints - probably in a pub owned by Chinese interests - wondering why it is China utterly dominates over us in South America, Africa and Asia.

But that seems to be the way now. We play the ultra short game ('How can personally benefit in the next 5 years?') while China is looking 50 or 100 years ahead.

Have a feeling this outbreak is being covered up and the figures for dead and infected is way higher than is being reported.

One University is estimating the figures will be nearer 10 x those being publicised.

SARS killed just over 700, this Coronavirus may already have killed thousands in Chine alone.

Chinese woman in my office (like from actual China, somewhere in the south-west of the country) reckons she's heard from back home the lethality rate is 10% not 2%, and a lot is being covered up - but would explain why they're shitting themselves that badly over it.
