EWM have purchased Tynwald Mills at the same time as discussions are at an advanced stage for Isle of Man F.C. to enter a team in English league. The prediction and plan is to be in League 2 in 12 years. Could this be where Philip Day investment in football could have a future.

Wikipedia has their population at 83,314 so with a similar population to Carlisle there is no reason why they couldn't get club set up in Douglas with a large ground, I suspect Douglas probably already has a football club.

Problem would be initially the travel as they would be starting at the bottom rung so these clubs visiting would need to be subsidised I would guess and maybe accommodation but if they are serious about it just build an annex next to a pub like they are doing at the Horse & Farrier.

That's saying that anyone did want to get an IOM team into the league of course.

Would be a cracking weekend away mind you, drive down to Morecambe on the Friday and leave the car, find a B&B and go on the lash, bit of brekkie and then hop on the ferry on Saturday at Heysham to Douglas to catch the game - two more B&B's for Saturday and Sunday to take in IOM then the ferry back to Morecambe and drive home.

If only :)

More likely that we will be playing IoM in the same league as Workington in 12 years time!

Could be a lot sooner unless we get a grip. I fear we are destined to be this season's whipping boys

Isle of Man already has suitable stadium which holds 5000 in Douglas. It was refurbished for the Junior commonwealth games five years ago. At the moment it is home to St. Marys FC .It is a delightful and suitable ground in good location.
