How refreshing to hear praise from the pundits on the show we barely get a mention usually. Things are looking up.

They mentioned us in glowing terms a few weeks ago regarding how many chances we create and how little we offer the opposition in terms of chances

Frankly I would prefer they didn't mention it as I'm getting the feeling it won't be long before our gaffer has interest shown in him

Which is precisely why I’ve been saying over the last few weeks that getting his contract extended should be the number 1 priority. More so than any players. His current deal is up at the end of this season.

Staggering to think pundits are calling our football phenomenal and outstanding and that Beech is doing a brilliant job, opposition commentators most weeks comment of what a good team we are, opposition fans are impressed on their own messageboards yet there’s still numpties on here who are saying the football is rubbish and the manager is out of his depth!

We’ve started the season well but it’s early days.

We started like this with Keith Curle one season and fell away and similarly with Sheridan.

We might fall away, who knows, but regardless he’s proven that he’s a good coach with an eye for a young player and deserves rewarded with an extension imo. On your basis we’d never extend a managers contract when he’s doing well because there’s the chance we might fall away.

We didn’t fall away under Sheridan, Pressley the football terrorist came in and destroyed the work done by Sheridan.

Curle inherited a similar shit tip to the one Beech inherited, but Curle took a couple of seasons to put together that side that was up there challenging, plus by all accounts he had a bigger budget than beech has.

Cheer up Nobby man!

We are 4th after 13 games, no one believed we'd start liked we have at the start of the season. There's a long way to go yes, but teams that start well tend to be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

We also lost a stadium and our training facilities and had to travel around the country for several weeks in Curles season which had a huge impact.

Then with the Sheridan one we lost our manager , our front three and ended up with MR stats

The thing is Nobby he's running the show on a modest budget certainly to the one Curle had and has brought in a different type of player to what Curle did mostly young players with something to prove or players that havnt really been given a chance and we are getting results
Managers need time and a bit of faith,I would love to see where we could be in a couple of years time if we could keep him
I know a new contract wouldn't necessarily mean he stayed but at least he would feel backed and wanted
I'd give him two year extension tomorrow I've seen and heard enough already
I thought at the time he was a good appointment probably surpassed expectations given the state we were in when he arrived

I don’t think the budget will be that modest in comparison to others.

We hadn’t started the season well under Sheridan at all, it was win one lose one for the early months and we were bottom half by mid-December.

You’re correct in saying it’s early days and we’ve made a decent start, nothing more. But the signs are promising, both with the squad and the manager. I’d still be quite happy with a top 10 finish as, along with the good football most weeks, it shows obvious progress. I prefer to see steady progress than false success too early and the team coming straight back down coz they’re not ready for the step up. Being patient while you build something was always the way in football but sadly that’s been replaced by the success straight away mentality. There’s no reason why we can’t buck the modern trend and get behind them whilst they try and build something.

I’d quite like a couple of summers where we don’t have to do a complete squad rebuild from scratch which has been the case the last god knows how many years. A bit of continuity with the same manager, steadily improving a squad of players with a few outgoings and incomings each summer.

If we don’t tie Beech down to an extended contract, he continues to do well and we end up having to change managers/head coach again, it could be another rebuild job as managers tend to like putting together their own squad.

The biggest worry I have for this team is fatigue . We're playing a high press style , Players will get injury's .

That’s why I was quite happy to get knocked out of the league cup and FL trophy this season as early as possible. It’s not a season to be playing needless games.

We've played 13 games out of a possible 46 so I think some folk are getting carried away a bit too early as there is a long way to go. Yes it makes a refreshing change being in the top four in a piss weak division but that's where we should be IMO.

I couldn't agree more about not wanting the squad upheavel next summer but let's just hang on until there's ten games to go and then see if we are in a with a chance of promotion.
